wires

Eric Davis’s narratives are blunt, in simple prose, and they feel real to me.  I was glad to mix his excepts in with my drawings as if they were intercepted conversations.

pwn_the_net

Tired of living in the geo-cities and blogger slums? This workshop will show you how to build a professional quality personal website or blog from scratch using free tools and online services.

Integrate your current social sites (flickr, twitter, facebook), host different domains for your many projects, host your own images, make it pimp and keep yo money for yoself.

we’ll be talking about: Wordpress, Indexhibit, Tumblr, Firebug, Filezila, etc as well as customizing your current blogs and joining the wonderful world of open source communities.

This workshop is FREE – bring cookies to share!
It will also be the first of a series, so it will probably be a mess. :)

it’s britney bitch!

britney_shears_aaa

this is a limited edition print of Britney Spears, all handmade and individually retouched and numbered. There’s a total of 20 with 2 artist’s proofs, each measures 15 x 21.5 in (39 x 55cm).

I made some money with them, sold about half at a recent event; but what I would rather make is new friends. So If you want one then send me something you would like to trade for the print. I will accept anything that you think is reciprocal  or more valuable than this piece.

Keep in mind that I don’t mean market value here, since the worth of this transaction will happen outside economic markets and in a sacred place between you and me :)

so if you are interested shoot me an email over at ~ lnylnylny AT gmail DOT com ~ and we can exchange post addresses.

p.s. I would really like some CDs, LPs or any kind of music!! oh and full picture inside:

blog

blog_cover_jamian_juliano_villani

blog is Jamian Julliano-Villani’s collaboration with amalgama ind. first we discussed making a project from her recent work, all of which she is already blogging as it’s conceived, so it seemed interesting to make an actual material book from her blog. turning one kind of cataloging (digital) into material (a zine) and then  into digital again (the .pdf download)… post-modern mind-fuck was the other title I was considering. some pics from the launch night here.

the attack

alexabder_conner_lenny_correa_attack

Alexander Conner and I went to school together. Our friendship matured over arguments for our reasons for making, our passions, our vices.
We now live in different continents and the conversation continues here.

Emotional Map Project

emomap

if your motions through your day created an emotion, what type of emotion would that be?

How does this emotion sit on top of a map and color it, texture it, give it shape? If your home were an eyeball and you were the retina, what information would it take in, your home being the nexus of your map? Job? School? Play?

Who do you want to fuck within a 10 mile radius? Do their physical appearances form a pattern? What would a google map of sex look like for you?
How does your map contain you? if you were to redraw your prison, what would it look like?

Help us draw a map of the places that move you, add interesting points of reference, images, stories, descriptions, music or whatever else these places inspire or mean to you.

Thread @ Littlefield

thread

Thread: Sept 3 : Drumming

Thread is a new performance series that attempts to pair performing artists from different genres, mediums and audiences that share commonalities. This evening features variations on percussion music.

admission: $8, doors: 7pm,  21+

at http://www.littlefieldnyc.com/

Performers:

Kevin Shea

http://www.myspace.com/kevinshea

Kevin Shea is a drummer known for his work with Talibam, and scores of other musicians. In his solo performance, “Sexy Thoughts,” Kevin plays the drums, talks, and dismantles his drumset until it is lying in pieces around the room.

Mantra Percussion
www.myspace.com/mantrapercussion
Formed in September 2007, Mantra Percussion is dedicated to expanding the future of percussion, living in the present, and celebrating the past. Mantra Percussion commissions pieces by prominent composers to substantially expand the percussion repertoire, commissions young composers to breathe new life into the art, and performs classic repertoire from the past to remind us why we are here.

Cameron Wisch and Eric Barry Drasin
www.myspace.com/cameronwischmusic

http://ericbarrydrasin.com/

Cameron Wisch performs avant rock music on an acoustic drum kit along with a laptop as Eric Drasin beams projections onto the audience and stage. A camera captures the movement of the audience and is analyzed by a laptop to form a ‘feedback loop’ of light, echoing and enhancing the energy of the room.

Sunshine Supreme
Nate Crepeault and Eric Barry Drasin perform live sampled improvised compositions for drums, bass, computers, video, voice, and aerobics.
